About Me
For the past 7 years, I have dedicated my professional career to working as an offline broadcast editor.
I love editing. It is, in my opinion, the best of all of the storytelling mediums.
Editing allows me to bring together all of my favourite creative things, music, writing, art and photography and create something that will connect with other people, in the same way all of my favourite stories have inspired me.
Previously in My life…
I started editing when I was 13 years old and I had to make a video for a school assignment, and being the keen and studious nerd that I am, I went a bit over the top, and filmed and edited a whole mock TV commercial, which from memory, was not a part of the assignment… But after I finished it, I wanted to make more.
After that, I started looking around online, and found a bunch of tutorials, and taught myself the basics of how to edit.
Once I graduated high school, I dabbled in a few different career options. I tried music production, business admin, retail, but in the end, I landed back on my favourite hobby of all, editing.
I went to University to study Media Arts Production and during my time there, I also took on various freelance editing projects, filming, producing and editing documentaries for Emu Heights Theatre Company, editing music videos for the band Little Sea, and editing various internal and external corporate films, for the Chain Reaction Foundation, Kimberley Clark and BMR Autowerks to name a few.
I graduated with a bachelor’s degree (with Dist). in Communications from Western Sydney University, and received the Deans Medal for Academic Excellence for my work.
Since graduating, I have spent the past 7 years working full time in the TV industry, starting out as an edit assist and working my way up to an offline editor. I have worked for Eureka Productions, Seven Network, and The Nine Network creating stories for the unscripted reality and lifestyle spaces.
Despite the crazy, and often challenging, environment of working in the TV industry, my love and dedication for my craft has not wavered, but has in fact continued to grow. (Yes, I am as surprised as you are!)
If any of my story has resinated with you, and you would like to work together, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have notes.
